World Hormone Day 2025
On Thursday, 24 April, the global endocrine community will unite on the first World Hormone Day to raise awareness of the vital role of hormones in health and disease. Hormones keep our health in check, yet most of us barely give them a second thought. They play a vital role in chronic conditions like diabetes, cancer and obesity, and over 400 rare diseases. More than three-quarters of us will see a hormone specialist at some point in our lifetime.
World Hormone Day 2025 is a chance to spread the word that hormones matter. Led by the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) and the European Hormone and Metabolism Foundation (ESE Foundation), the campaign brings together the global endocrine community to raise awareness of the small steps everyone can take towards better hormone health, under the banner #BecauseHormonesMatter.
Jérôme Bertherat, ESE President, says: “This is a fantastic opportunity to put hormones in the spotlight. Together, we can raise awareness of individual actions and call for stronger policies to support the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disease. Our 10 Recommendations for Good Hormone Health show how small, simple steps can make a big
.
difference for everyone.”

10 Recommendations for Hormone Health
ESE Foundation Chair, Martin Reincke says: “Building on the success of European Hormone Day over the last three years, this new global event calls for action to put hormones at the
forefront of public health conversations. We need policymakers around the world to address issues such as endocrine-disrupting chemicals to protect the health of current and future
generations.”You can support the campaign online by following #BecauseHormonesMatter or by getting involved in person. ESE has provided a toolkit with everything you need to raise awareness,
including infographics, posters, videos, social media graphics and more.Find out more and download materials here: www.worldhormoneday.org.
