Record Number of London Marathon Runners for AMEND!
This year, we have a record number of marathon runners participating in the London Marathon on Sunday 26th April. In addition to our single allocated Charity Ballot place, three other runners had success in the Public Ballot and have elected to run the marathon in aid of AMEND. We are hugely grateful to all four runners for their support of AMEND’s work and activities. You can show your support by sponsoring one or more of of our runners through the links below.
Good luck to all four runners – may the wind be behind you, the shade plentiful, and drink stations perfectly spaced!

Ed Dickson
Ed is running for his daughter, Isla, who was born with multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2B (MEN2B).
“When she was just three years old, we received this life-changing diagnosis. Despite being a surgeon myself, AMEND has been an incredible source of support ever since, helping to navigate an unfamiliar and frightening journey with compassion, clarity and kindness.”

Gary Fuller
In 2022 Gary was diagnosed with the hereditary paraganglioma syndrome, SDHB, after a very scary diagnostic journey.
“While my specific condition of a normetanephrine-secreting paraganglioma with an SDHB mutation might sound complex, it falls directly under AMEND’s umbrella of support. AMEND is a vital charity dedicated to assisting patients and families affected by Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia (MEN) disorders and related conditions, such as paragangliomas and pheochromocytomas, which are directly linked to SDHB mutations. They provide invaluable information, support, and advocate for research into these rare endocrine conditions.”
