AMEND Film wins Bronze People’s Choice Award
At the Charity Film Awards ceremony for finalists at the Odeon, Leicester Square, on Tuesday 23rd March, we were delighted to learn that AMEND’s film, ‘Surgery: Claudia’s Story’, had won a Bronze People’s Award. AMEND CEO, Jo Grey, along with our film’s star, Claudia Clark and her mum, Jane, all attended the fabulous awards evening, that featured such stars as Alan Dedicoat (the voice of Strictly Come Dancing) and comedienne and impersonator, Ronni Ancona.
The Charity Film Awards are an annual event run by the Smiley Movement to celebrate the work of charities in the UK. The People’s Awards are handed out as a direct result of the number of votes received for each film. We are so grateful to everyone who voted for our short film; one of 7 films featuring our young adult members talking about topics important to them.
We have such a wonderful and supportive membership and this is reflected by this award – a wonderful achievement for such a small charity, especially given the strong competition!
We dedicate this award to all our adolescent and young adult members.
Enormous thanks go to all our young film stars, as well as to Red Goat Productions with whom we worked to develop these resources. You are all stars!
