GENETIC DATA BANNED FOR INSURERS

The use by insurance companies in the UK of genetic test results was banned under a moratorium due to expire in 2011.  Today that ban was extended to 2014, allowing people undergoing genetic testing to take out insurance without having to reveal the results of genetic tests (with the exception of Huntington's Disease).  The next review of the moratorium will be in 2011.
