Clinical Trial Travel Assistance Fund
AMEND is continuing to run a fund to assist thyroid cancer patients with their travel expenses whilst attending the Royal Marsden Hospital’s preliminary clinical trial of sorafenib. The trial, which is looking into the effectiveness of this multi-kinase inhibitor in patients with metastatic thyroid cancer (including MTC), is being run at the RMH in London. AMEND intends that the fund will go some way towards financially helping anyone who wishes to participate in the trial but who is concerned about travel costs. Awards are capped at £250 per person and reimbursements will only be made while funds are available. Several awards have already been made, and anyone else interested in applying for a travel assistance award should contact AMEND as soon as possible for further information. If you are interested in participating in the trial please have your specialist contact Dr Chris Nutting at RMH (Chris.Nutting@rmh.nhs.uk). This award is open to UK residents only and should in no way be taken as a recommendation by AMEND for participation in the trial. Not all patients will fit the necessary trial participation criteria. |
