AGM & Information Afternoon - Another Success

AMEND held it's annual AGM and information afternoon on Saturday 12th May, 2007 in London, UK.  The numbers of attendees are increasing all the time, and this year 31 people were present which made for some lively conversation over tea and biscuits as well as an extremely varied and useful Q&A session with AMEND Trustee and Consultant Endocrine Surgeon, Mr Mark Lansdown from Leeds.

Attendees were able to view prototypes of the proposed AMEND 'Passport', a patient-held record of tests, results, treatments, and hospital appointments, and which will be road-tested soon.  The Genetic Interest Group gave a presentation about the Family Route Map for MEN disorders, a joint project to produce a 'map' of services already available that are of relevance to MEN patients.  Feedback from both initiatives was encouraging.

AMEND's very first Young Investigator Award winner from the British Endocrine Societies Meeting in March, Dr Chrysanthia Leontiou from St Bartholomew's Hospital in London also gave a presentation about her research into the pituitary, after which she received her official medal.  And finally, Andy Smith, MEN1 member and free-lance cameraman showed a short clip from the MEN1 website video clip that is currently in production and which we hope to launch on this very website later in the year.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time to attend, and to those who gave talks, thus making it such a successful afternoon.
