FASCINATING DAY AT MD ANDERSON

Jo Grey had the absolute privilege to meet AMEND members, MEN patients, their family members and the endocrine team at the MD Anderson Cancer Center MEN Conference on Saturday 25th June.  A huge group of around 70 MEN1 and MEN2 patients listened to a packed day of talks from members of the team.  These included talks from world-renowed Dr Robert Gagel, surgeons Nancy Perrier and Elizabeth Grubbs, Genetic Counsellor Thereasa Rich, Specialist psychiatric nurse Mary Hughes, PGD and pre-natal testing expert Sandra Darilek, paediatric endocrinologist Dr Steven Waguespack and Dr Mimi Hu who gave an overview of advanced MTC therapies.  AMEND was also invited to give a presentation.  A full write-up of the conference will be available shortly.  Anyone who was at the conference but who didn't get the chance to speak with Jo or to get a copy of AMEND's patient information books (they went fast!), please just email us through the Contact Us page.  AMEND would like to thank the organisers, Thereasa Rich, Nancy Perrier and Eric Rothe for inviting AMEND to participate in what we hope will become a regular event.
