British 10K London Run 2012

On Your Marks...........Get Set...........Go!

Extra places secured for this year's event.

The 2012 British 10k London Run comes during a busy year for the UK what with the London Olympics and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations, but that will make it even more special!

The route on Sunday July 8th takes in part of the Olympic marathon course, but is a relatively achieveable 10k so is suitable for most people with a bit of training.  Each AMEND runner is expected to raise a minimum of £150 and will receive a free athletic tshirt, an event photo and chip-timing.

Please contact Jo as soon as possible if you are interested in taking one of the 12 spaces for this event.  We would also love to see more supporters there on the day to cheer the team on and perhaps to provide an after-event picnic celebration.  Please get in contact if you are able to help with this.

The 2011 Team who raised almost £5000

AMEND MEN1 Member, Toria Maxfield (above 2nd from right) had had her pancreas removed in 2010 and is therefore diabetic.  After the 2011 run, Toria said, "This whole experience has been such a personal boost for me, having a goal to work towards and proving to myself and everyone that I can bounce back after my surgery.  I should be paying you for the confidence that this experience has given me!"

(thanks to Marc Smith for filming whilst running!)
